Thiruvananthapuram
Thiruvananthapuram: The police are investigating the Gulf-based promoters of a city-based real estate development firm in connection with the attempt on the life of a 34-year-old man at Kowdiar on March 28. An armed gang, wielding machetes and moving on motorbikes, had ambushed the victim, “TTC” Babu, in front of the Trivandrum Tennis Club (TTC) around 11 a.m. He sustained deep injuries on his head and limbs. The police said Babu, who owns a small plot of prime land in front of TTC, had refused to sell his property to the builder. The flat builder had recently purchased much of the 64-cent plot owned by a set of below poverty line families. However, eight families led by Babu refused to sell the builder the 8.5 cents of land owned by them.
