Spandana counter to remain open between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. till May ‘Streamlining the process will help keep middlemen away’ BIDAR: The Regional Transport Office in Bidar has streamlined the process of redressing complaints of the public received at its Spandana counter (public grievances cell). The counter will remain open between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. till May and thereafter between 10 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. People can approach the authorities at the counter for problems related to registration of vehicles, driving licence, tax payment, transport permits for autoricksaws and other matters concerning the RTO, Regional Transport Officer H.N. Ramesh told The Hindu here on Wednesday. Mr. Ramesh said that the office superintendent had been appointed to monitor the functioning of the counter. Applications forms will be issued to the public free of cost. Services available at the counter and information about the documents required for specific works have been displayed. Streamlining the process would help keep middlemen away, as any complaint would be attended to by the officials concerned directly, he said. Mr. Ramesh asked the public, “not to entertain middlemen for their works in the RTO and directly contact the officials at the counter to avail themselves of assistance”. Mr. Ramesh said that people could also attend the weekly meetings at the office and could air complaints or offer suggestions on the functioning of the RTO.
