For the faithful: Velur Sreekrishna Temple Thrissur: ‘Pratishta Kalasa’ ceremonies of the Velur Kurooramma Sreekrishna Temple will conclude on April 13. The temple has been constructed at Velur, where saint Kurooramma is believed to have had visions of Lord Krishna. The ceremonies, led by thanthri Keezhmundayur Parameswaran Namboodiri, began on April 5 with ‘Acharya Varanam’, ‘Mulayidal’ and ‘Dhwaja Sthapanam’. Apart from Tantrik rites, discourses on various spiritual topics are being held. The Bhagavad Gita and the Narayaneeya are being recited every day at the shrine. Discussions on tantrik rites, Vastuvidya (traditional architecture) and Vedas were held from April 5. Vavannur Raghavan Nair inaugurated an astrology meet on Wednesday morning. A function was held in the evening to felicitate P. K. S. Raja, Thekkemadam Mooppil Swamiyar, Sadashiva Ashrami, Anjam Krishnan Namboodiri, Koottanad Ravunni Panicker and Rajashree Pathi. ‘Bimba Pratishta’ ceremonies will be held on April 10. ‘Sahasra Kalasam’ will be performed on April 13.
