Artiste dies of snakebite on stage

BERHAMPUR: Artiste Santosh Behera died while enacting the role of Lord Shiva when the live cobra he had used as a garland around his neck bit him on the face. The incident occurred while Santosh was performing ‘Shiva tandav’ at the Baladi village of Ganjam district during the ‘Danda Nata’ festival. To make his part more realistic he had procured the live snake from a local snake charmer.
