Contractor’s suicide: intervention sought

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Government Contractors Association has demanded the immediate intervention of the Central and the State governments to avert suicides by contractors owing to the unilateral provisions in contracts and unnecessary formalities. Varghese Kannampally, State president of the Association, in a statement here on Wednesday attributed the suicide of railway contractor C.Alex of Kottarakkara on Tuesday to debts.
