Homecoming: Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi at his ancestral residence, Flag Staff House, in Bhopal on Wednesday. BHOPAL: Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, scion of the erstwhile ruling family of Bhopal, said here on Wednesday that he was not disposing of Flag Staff House, which happens to be his residence in the State capital. Mr. Pataudi, who was here on a short visit along with his wife Sharmila Tagore, told The Hindu that he was one of the joint owners of Flag Staff House and since it was presently under litigation along with other properties in Bhopal, the question of disposing it of did not arise. He said that besides the legacy, he also has 67 years of personal and live contact with Bhopal and the association would continue. Several properties owned here by Mr. Pataudi and other members of the erstwhile ruling family of Bhopal are presently under litigation. The District Collector had recently issued them notices accusing them of “unauthorised occupation” of land in five villages. The district administration was asked by the High Court on August 31, 2004, to conduct an inquiry into the Merger Agreement and the land record when the agreement was signed.
