Bridge
Tamil Nadu in last four
UDHAGAMANDALAM: Tamil Nadu and West Bengal ‘A’ came from behind to make it to the last four of the team-of-four duplicate event, for the T.P. Khosla Trophy, in the 39th summer National bridge championships at the Cordite Factory, Aruvankadu, near here, on Wednesday.
Trailing by six IMPs after two 10-board sessions, Tamil Nadu bounced back to recover 19 IMPs and defeat West Zone by an overall 13 IMPs.
West Bengal, on the other hand, was 26 IMPs adrift of its second string at the end of 20 boards. However, in the last session it blitzed the ‘B’ team 36-0 to emerge winner by 10 IMPs.
Fancied Railways enjoyed the most comfortable win in the quarterfinals. — Sports Reporter
