THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Personnel of the anti-water theft squad of the Thiruvananthapuram circle of the Kerala Water Authority cut 13 unauthorised water connections to houses in the Kannanthura area on Wednesday. Superintending Engineer of the Thiruvananthapuram circle K.P. Krishnakumar said here that two plumbers in the area had given the unauthorised connections by laying a 200-metre pipe from the KWA’s main line on the road. The plumbers had taken Rs.5,000 from each house owner for giving the connections. No licenceWhile one of the plumbers did not have the KWA’s licence, the other’s licence had been suspended by the Authority some time ago. A member of the anti-water theft squad said there might be more such connections in the area. The squad’s raid at Kannanthura would continue on Thursday, he added.
