Decision on statue put off

Bangalore: Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike Commissioner S. Subramanya on Wednesday stated that the decision on installing a statue of the former MLA late, I.P.D Salappa, on the premises of its headquarters will be taken in consultation with the elected representatives after elections are held to the council.

BBMP’s proposal to install the statue on the occasion of B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary on April 14 was opposed by Niranthara Jana Jagruthi Vedike stating that authorities cannot install statue of any leaders till the election process was completed.
