Vacant postsThey urged the Government to fill all vacant posts and drop moves to downsize departments. They also asked the Government to abandon modernisation and restructuring, which they termed were ploys to ‘weaken the Government.’ In the day-long dharna, which saw employees from Coimbatore, the Nilgris, Erode, Namakkal, Salem, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts participate, the association members also demanded parity in payment. They complained that the Government constitute an expert committee to look into the disparity in payment for technical staff.
