dated April 11, 1958: Indian philosophy

Under the direction of Prof. Erich Frauwallner, professor of Sanskrit and Indology of the University of Vienna, an encyclopaedia of Indian philosophy is under preparation in the German language. The professor has already written and published two volumes of history of Indian Philosophy. Dr. Oberhammer, a student of this professor is in Madras, working under Dr. V. Raghavan, professor of Sanskrit of the Madras University, to collect material for the section on Samkhya. Prof. Buhler, the distinguished indologist, founded in 1881 the Oriental Institute in Vienna where Sanskrit is the main subject of study for research purposes. There is provision for the study of Pali, Prakrit, Hindi, Urdu and Tibetan languages as well.
