Sania Mirza to undergo surgery

HYDERABAD: Tennis star Sania Mirza will be out of action for a minimum of four weeks after she undergoes a surgery on her troublesome right wrist in Miami, according to her father Imran Mirza.

In a statement released here on Thursday, Imran said that Sania arrived in the United States two days ago along with her mother and physiotherapist Renuko Pinto.

It may be recalled that Sania had to contend with a chronic wrist inflammation for over 18 months.

Renowned specialist Dr. Bradia will perform the surgery.

Sania underwent a knee surgery in March 2007.
