Gold stolen by trio from shop

TIRUCHI: Several pairs of gold ear studs were allegedly stolen from a jewellery shop located on the West Boulevard Road in the city on Wednesday. Police sources said three persons including two women came to the shop in the evening hours under the pretext of buying ear studs.

After looking at the gold studs, the trio left the shop. Police sources said a few moments later the shop owner found that one of the trays with 13 pairs of ear studs, weighing 20 sovereigns, was reportedly stolen and immediately lodged a complaint with the Fort Police station where a case has been registered. Further investigations are on.
