Rathod seeks seats for Lambanis
Bangalore: Prakash K. Rathod, Congress MLC, has demanded that the party nominate Lambani candidates to contest from 14 constituencies including Chincholi, Gulbarga, Nagathana, Aurad, Hagaribommana Halli, Kanakagiri, Shirahatti, Shimoga Rural, Haveri, Hadagali, Holalkere and Pavagada where they are present in sizeable numbers.
There are 40 lakh Lambanis in the State, he said in a press release here.
He said there was no Lambani Minister in the Dharam Singh government. Only one Lambani was elected as a Congress candidate in the 2004 elections. Barring his and Jalaja Naik’s nomination to the Legislative Council, no importance had been given to Lambanis, he said.
