BANGALORE: It is a new Assembly constituency created by carving six wards of Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), which were spread in Rajajinagar, Yelahanka and the erstwhile Uttarahalli constituencies after the delimitation. Mahalakshmipuram (Ward 10), Nandini Layout (12), Geleyarabalaga (13), Nagapura (14), Kamalanagar (16) and Vrushabhavathinagar (Ward 17) are the BBMP wards included in this constituency. Areas such as Kanteeravanagar, Krishnanandanagar Slum, Srikanteshwaranagar, Mahalakshmi Layout, Nandini Layout, Ganesha Block, AGB Layout, J.C. Nagar, and a few localities adjacent to West of Chord Road, Basaveshwaranagar, Kamalanagar, Rajajinagar 1st Block and 1st N Block, Kurubarahalli, parts of Kamakshipalya, Isckon temple and surrounding areas form part of this constituency. MalleswaramThe electoral boundary of this old Assembly constituency of Bangalore has been redefined by inclusion of three different wards of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) while excluding two of the five wards which were part of this constituency prior to delimitation. While Yeshwanthpur (ward 3) and Dattatreya Temple (6) have been excluded and added to Rajarajeshwari Nagar and Gandhinagar constituencies respectively, three other adjoining wards – Gayathrinagar (ward 8), Subramanyanagar (9) and Palace Guttahalli (99) have been incorporated in this constituency. Earlier, Gayathrinagar and Subramanyanagar wards were part of Rajajinagar constituency and parts of Palace Guttahalli were in Jayamahal constituency. Malleswaram (ward 7), Mathikere (4) and Kodandaramapura (ward 5) have been retained in this constituency while a few parts of Mathikere ward that were earlier with Yelahanka constituency. The prestigious Indian Institute of Science is one of the prominent land marks of this constituency.
