PUDUCHERRY: The Puducherry State Health Mission (PSHM) and Department of Health and Family Welfare Services will inaugurate a three-day ‘Rural health mela’ on Saturday at Kodathur-Manaveli near Thirukanur. Around 100 specialists from across south India will screen and treat the people. The mela, organised as part of the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), will be inaugurated by Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss. “The camp will provide consultation, screening and medication for the rural people. Apart from personnel belonging to the Puducherry Health Department, specialists from the eight medical colleges, Indian Medical Association, Madras Medical Mission, Apollo Hospitals and Lifeline Hospitals are participating in the camp,” Director of Health Dilip Kumar Baliga told reporters on Friday.
