Sirsi: “Education brings a change in one’s life and develops his inner skill,” said Gangadharednra Saraswati of Sonda Swarnalli Math. He was speaking at the centenary celebrations of Hegdekatta Higher Primary School, Hegdekatta, near here on Thursday. He said that mere book knowledge was not sufficient but experience-based knowledge was required to lead a good life. The swamiji said that children accepted things as they were without thinking of right or wrong. In this respect, family members should exhibit all good things in front of children as children emulated elders, he suggested. The present system of education should be strengthened to instil confidence among children and making them independent, he said. Another guest, Seetaram Hegde Heepanalli, said that in primary education mother tongue should be given priority while teaching. The school centenary celebrations committee president, Vigneshwar Hegde Godvemane, presided over the function.
