BANGALORE: A 38-year-old woman was murdered allegedly by her tenant near Basanapura village in Nelamangala police station limits on Thursday. Her body was found in a forest bush near the village. According to police, Sarojamma, a resident of Mallasandra in Peenya, had given her house in the same locality to Muniraju on rent. On Wednesday afternoon, she left the house by telling her ailing husband Ashwatnarayana that she was going to collect rent from Muniraju. Ashwatnarayana, a garment factory employee, got concerned when his wife did not return till night. He went to the jurisdictional Tavarekere police station and lodged a missing complaint. On Thursday morning passers-by found the body in a bush of a forest. The Nelamangala police said they found marks of strangulation, probably by a sari. Ashwatnarayana has alleged that Muniraju, an autorickshaw driver, has murdered his wife. The police have registered a case of murder and are searching for Muniraju.
