TUMKUR: Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Tumkur S. Mallikarjunaiah on Friday announced his resignation from the Lok Sabha and the primary membership of the party. Mr. Mallikarjunaiah told presspersons here that he was upset with the party deciding to field an outsider to contest the Assembly elections from Gubbi in the district. Gubbi is one of the eight segments of Tumkur Lok Sabha Constituency. The BJP on Thursday announced candidates for seven of 11 constituencies in Tumkur district. Nataraj has been chosen for Gubbi. Earlier during the day, a large number of BJP workers arrived here from Gubbi and held a meeting.
