THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Centre for Career Development Studies (CCDS), a coaching centre for Civil Service aspirants , has gone online. The centre, which launched its coaching programme in 1996, launched a web site ccdstvm.net.in on Friday. The foray into the cyber world is seen as an attempt by the centre to endear itself to a net savvy student community that relies primarily on the Internet to seek information on various coaching centres. It is estimated that there are at least 10 institutes offering Civil Service coaching in the city alone. A view shared by District Collector Sanjay Kaul who inaugurated the site. “The other day when someone asked me to suggest a good coaching centre for Civil Services in the city, I was unable to trace any information about the CCDS on the Net, save a few media reports about the centre,” said Mr. Kaul who is also the chairman of the CCDS. “The Internet is one of the best ways to reach out to students. But it is also equally important to update the content of the web site periodically,” he said, adding that the centre should have a professional approach in offering training to the students.
