SHIMLA: Former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Friday termed the first 100 days of the Prem Kumar Dhumal-led BJP government in Himachal Pradesh as full of bluff, bluster and farcical claims. Talking to The Hindu after the Vidhan Sabha adjourned sine die, he said the State Government was making false promises to the hill folk and ordering inquiries against its political opponents on the flimsiest of grounds. “Chief Minister [Mr.] Dhumal, who is driven by political vendetta, is still in a state of euphoria and yet to descend on the ground to face the realities,” he said. ‘Not a BJP initiative’Mr. Singh claimed that the sanction of two IRF Police Battalions was done on the basis of a request from the previous Congress government and not on any initiative of Mr. Dhumal. He said the BJP government was incorrectly claiming credit for the increase in the Annual Plan outlay from Rs.2,100 crore to Rs.2,400 crore. “Due to early announcement of elections and the code of conduct, it could not be announced during our regime,” he said. “The Dhumal Government is just re-sanctioning the posts which were already announced with full financial provisions by the last Congress government. They have even de-notified at least 148 schools sanctioned by the Congress government,” he said.
