Verdict welcomed

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Akhil Bharatiya Vishwakarma Mahasabha has welcomed the Supreme Court order upholding the Union government’s decision to reserve 27 per cent of the seats in institutions of higher education of the Centre for backward communities. R.Appu, president and R.S.Manian, general secretary of the state unit of the organisation in a statement here today urged the Centre to enact a law for extending it to private and minority institutions also in the context of the Government’s exit from and the minorities take over of the area. — Special Correspondent
