RBI appeal

Bangalore: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) wants people to strike the right note by respecting the paper currency issued by it. RBI’s Regional Director Devaki Muthukrishnan, in a statement here on Friday, appealed to the public not to use the notes to make garlands, decorate pandals and places of worship or shower them on other people during social events. The press note said such use defaced the notes, shortening their life. Currency notes should be respected as they are a symbol of the sovereign republic. — Staff Reporter
