Dismissed

BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Friday dismissed bail petitions by several aides of slain forest bandit Veerappan. The petitioners are accused of not only being close associates of Veerappan but also being party to the kidnap and death of the former Minister Nagappa. The petitioners, Salvam alias Nataraj, Bhagyan and Shankar, both of Perambur district in Tamil Nadu, Krishna and Narayana, both of Kollegal, had moved the High Court for bail. Opposing their plea, the State contended that all of them are involved in the kidnap of Nagappa on May 28, 2002.. — Staff Reporter
