Protest against Pay Commission “anomalies”
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: The Central Secretariat Clerical Services Association members on Friday staged a demonstration in protest against the “anomalies created by the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations.”
They were demanding inclusion of the Upper Division Clerks (UDCs) in pre-revised scale of Rs 6,800-10,500 and the pay scale of Lower Division Clerks (LDCs) in pre-revised scale of Rs 5,000 to Rs 8,000 be placed in Pay Band 2.
As per the Department of Personnel and Training Manual of Office Procedure, it was clear that the nature of work of the Assistants and the UDCs was quite similar. However, the pay scale was quite different – the UDCs were in Pay Band 1 and the Assistants in Pay Band 2, the protesters said.
