Two killed as car hits van

PALANI: Two persons were killed and five others injured when their car rammed into a stationary van transporting soft drinks at Kandhappagoundenvalasu near here on Friday.

According to police sources, the deceased were identified as Sudhakar and Rangaraj.

The injured — Vellaithai (72), Vasantha (44), Kavitha (26) and Thamaraiselvi (46) — were all relatives of Sudhakar and Krishanan.

They were returning to Coimbatore after taking part in the marriage of Sudhakar’s brother in the temple town, when the accident occurred, police sources added.
