MG University Elections: Elections to the University Senate and Students’ Council from the general council will be held on May 12. The last date for submitting nominations is April 25 and for withdrawal, May2. Entrance Examinations: The University has called for applications for the entrance examinations for admission to the under-graduate and post-graduate programmes offered by the various University Departments: School of Pedagogical Sciences: MEd: 50 per cent marks in BEd. Special weightage for those with post graduate degree in the concerned subject and teaching experience. MPhil (Education): Those with 55 per cent marks for M.Ed can apply. School of Indian Legal Thought: BA LLB (Honours): Candidates with 50 per cent marks in Plus Two or equivalent; LLM: Specialisation in Intellectual Property Rights and Cyber Law/ Human Rights Law; Constitutional and Administrative Law. candidates with 55 per cent marks for LLB can apply. School of Social Science: MA (History/Anthropology): Candidates with 45 per cent marks in social science faculty can apply.; MPhil in Social Science: (Anthropology/Sociology/History/Economics). Candidateswith 50 per cent marks in MA in Social Science faculty. ; MPhil (Human Ecology and Natural History) Candidates with 60 per cent marks in PG in Natural Sciences or Material Sciences/ 55 per cent marks in PG in Social Sciences or who have degree in Forestry can apply. School of International Relations and Politics: MA (Politics and International Relations): Candidates with 45 per cent marks at degree level in Economics/ Politics/History/Law can apply.; MA (Politics and Human Rights): Candidates with 50 per cent marks for Part Three in under graduate programmes in Sociology/ Anthropology/ Psychology/Geography/ Philosophy/ Commerce can apply. Those having 60 per cent marks in Science programmes at UG level can also apply.; MPhil(Politics and International Relations) Candidates with 55 per cent marks at post graduate programmes in Politics and International Relations/ Politics/ International Relations/ Economics/ History/ Law can apply. School of Letters: MA (Malayalam/English) Candidates with 45 per cent marks in relevant subjects at the UG level, or those with 50 per cent marks in Part I English or Part II Malayalam in arts/science subjects at the UG level, can apply; MPhil (Malayalam/English)Post graduate degree with 55 per cent marks in the concerned subjects is the basic qualification; MPhil (Theatre Arts): Masters degree in any subject with 55 per cent marks. School of Chemical Sciences: The School offers eight post graduate programmes. Candidates with 55 per cent marks at the UG programme in Chemistry can apply for M.Sc. programme in Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Polymer Science. Candidates with 55 per cent marks at the PG level for Chemistry can apply for MPhil in Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Polymer Chemistry. Applications can be had from select branches of the State Bank ofTravancore from April 21onwards. The last date for submitting applications is May 31.
