Youth dies in accident at railway station

KOCHI: A youth died after he was caught between a train and a platform at the Ernakulam Junction railway station on Friday morning.

The Railway Police said that Tom Thomas, 23, of Injakad House, Puthupalli, Kottayam, was alighting from the Bangalore-Thiruvananthapuram train at around 6.50 a.m. when his bag’s strap got trapped on the coach’s door handle and he lost his balance.

The body was handed over to his relatives, after post mortem examination.
