KORAPUT: Elaborate arrangements have been made for conducting byelection in Laxmipur Assembly constituency on Saturday. In all 495 polling personnel are deployed along with 10 magistrates to conduct the polling in 152 booths in Laxmipur, Bandhugaon and Narayanpatna blocks of Koraput district and Kashipur block of Raygada district. While 65 booths are declared sensitive, 54 booths have been considered to be hyper sensitive. Moreover with most of the places coming under naxal-affected region, special security arrangements have been made to ensure free and fair elections, Deepak Kumar, SP, Koraput said. Meanwhile, speaking to mediapersons PCC president Jayadev Jena alleged that ruling BJD-BJP alliance was misusing the government machinery to distribute money among the masses on the eve of Laxmipur by election. Though Congress leaders had left the constituency after the deadline for the campaigning was over, the ruling party was violating norms and regulations of the election process, he alleged. A complaint was registered in this regard with the Election Commission, he added.
