OAS officers threaten to go on mass leave

Correspondent

CUTTACK: Orissa Administrative Service (OAS) officers have threatened to go on mass leave from next month, if their long pending demands are not fulfilled immediately.

The Cuttack branch of State-level OAS Association at an emergency meeting held here on Friday has passed a unanimous resolution supporting the demand forwarded by its State association. The association had been demanding for last one decade to upgrade the entry-level of OAS officers to Class-I status as is prevalent in several other states like West Bengal, UP and Bihar. The other major demand of the association is ‘time-scale’ salary for OAS officers like that of the IAS officials. The Cuttack meeting was attended by over 100 OAS officers of the district under the chairmanship of Cuttack ADM U N Nayak, who is the president of the Cuttack branch of the association.
