DAV enters semifinals

MUMBAI: DAV (Chandigarh) entered the semifinals of the Boost Cricket Cup inter-city challenge with a 10-wicket win over Swami Vivekanand (Mumbai) in Group ‘B’ league at the Islam Gymkhana.

Despite the loss, Swami Vivekanand also made the grade on the strength of its earlier wins. In the semifinals, Swami Vivekanand meets Santhome, Chennai while DAV, Chandigarh takes on Salwan Boys, Delhi.

The scores:

Swami Vivekanand, Mumbai 113 in 30.1 overs (Fenil Soni 40 Pratik Gawli 38, Gagandeep Singh four for 17, Amit Rana three for 31) lost to DAV, Chandigarh 114 for no loss in 9.3 overs (Shahnawaz Mirza 91).

Presidency School, Bangalore 251 in 43.3 overs (Aman Raj 88 Wasim Baig 56, Mohd. Munir 48, N. Satyanaraynan three for 53) bt Neelambal Subramaniam, Salem 152 in 37.1 overs (Ram Navnathan 34, Mohd. Munir three for 29).

Santhome HSS, Chennai 264 for nine in 45 overs (S. Dinesh 122, S.S. Xavier 30, M. Ashwin 30, Mohsin Shaikh three for 55) bt Vidyakunj HS, Baroda 92 in 25.1 overs (M. Ashwin three for 6).

Salwan Boys School, Delhi 365 for five in 45 overs (Sandeep Kaushik 43, Nakul Sharma 142, Nitesh Rana 105 n.o.) bt St. John’s JC, Hyderabad 214 in 37.1 overs (D. Rajesh 68, B. Ajinkya Rao 50, Shakti Singh three for 55, Yatharth Tomar three for 30).
