TIRUPATI: The Chittoor district unit of the AP State Government Retired Employees Association has called upon the Government to fulfil its commitment to pay a Rs.2 lakh medical reimbursement to the pensioners on par with those in service. The meeting also appealed to the government to extend the benefit of ‘death relief fund’ of Rs.500 even to the pensioners who during the period of their service had worked in the aided-schools, Municipal and Panchayat Raj schools. Appointment of Pay Revision Commission and announcement of 25 p.c. interim relief, revival of 12 year commutation facility, extending 30 p.c. concession to pensioners in RTC services as in case of Railways, home to the homeless pensioners, providing government land to the Retired Employees’ Associations based at taluk and mandal headquarters towns to help construct association building were some of the other requests the district association has made to the Government at its meeting on Saturday.
