BIDAR: Huge quantities of illicit liquor have been seized by excise officials in raids conducted at different places in the district. District Excise Commissioner Asad Ansari in a release here on Friday said that they conducted raids at Mangarwadi in Bidar city, Basavkalyan and Bhalki taluks. Excise officials seized 480 litres of illicit liquor, four litres of artificial or chemical toddy, five litres of “desi daaru”, 250 litres of jaggery wash, 15 litres of illicit toddy and one litre of chlorine hydrate. Eight special teams had been formed to check the sale of illicit liquor during the Assembly elections. — Staff Correspondent
