Probe begins

Victims of callousness: Veterinarians inspecting the dead monkeys at Thumbakaranpatti near Thoppur forest in Dharmapuri on Saturday. As many as nine monkeys were found dead on the roadside on the Salem-Bangalore National Highway– 7. Forest Department sources said the monkeys were poisoned. Fourteen monkeys that survived were taken to the veterinary hospital in Thoppur, where they are recovering.
