New Chairman for ICSSR

NEW DELHI: Eminent scholar Javed Alam has been nominated Chairman of the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). Prof. Alam will hold the post for three years. He succeeds the veteran sociologist, Prof. Andre Beteille.

Prof. Alam has been a member of the council of ICSSR. He has taught at Himachal Pradesh University in Shimla for more than 25 years and has been associated with the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla, in various capacities.
