Meet on trade union rights

Kochi: The eighth international conference of the Southern Initiative on Globalisation and Trade Union Rights (SIGTUR) will be held here from April 19 to 23. At a press conference here on Saturday, M.M. Lawrence, chairman of the reception committee, and K. Chandran Pillai, MP and general convener, said that 270 delegates from more than 20 countries were expected to participate. The conference would enable the participants to analyse the ongoing agitations in those countries and chalk out the future course of action. The plenary session would be addressed by M.K. Pandhe, president, Centre of Indian Trade Unions.
