BHOPAL: The Leader of Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Jamuna Devi on Saturday lodged a complaint with the police alleging that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s wife Sadhna Singh had misled the Income Tax Department by giving a wrong Permanent Account Number (PAN) while filing her Income Tax return. The Chief Minister told a section of media that the Income Tax Department was given a wrong PAN due to a clerical error. In her complaint, Ms. Jamuna Devi said that the I-T Department had slapped a fine of Rs.10,000 on Ms. Singh for submitting a wrong PAN while filing her tax return. She mentioned in her complaint that the Department must have given Ms. Singh the opportunity to be heard before imposing the fine. Ms. Jamuna Devi has further pointed out that Ms Singh had furnished a wrong PAN when she was facing charges in the dumper scam.
