Abdul Salam in final

KOCHI: Abdul Salam of the host Fort Kochi YMCA defeated Perumbavur’s Y. Johny 21-8, 21-8 and entered the veteran’s singles final of the 20th all-Kerala inter-YMCA badminton tournament here on Saturday.

In the men’s singles’ early action, Kochi YMCA’s P.A. Alfred defeated Kaleel Ibrahim (Kunnamkulam) 21-11, 21-16, while Nebu John (Perumbavur) beat Aji Varghese (Kuruppampady) 21-18, 21-15.

In men’s doubles, the host’s Alfred and Srikanth brushed aside Krishna Kumar and Aji Varghese (Kuruppampady) 21-4, 21-13.
