Quit posts, contest bypolls: TRS to Congress

Staff Reporter

ADILABAD: K. Rama Rao, general secretary of Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) on Saturday dared Congress Minister G. Vinod, Nirmal MLA A. Indrakaran Reddy, MLC Premsagar Rao and Adilabad District Congress Committee president to contest the by elections after resigning their present posts.

He said if the Congress fields candidates who are already enjoying power it will only mean that it is that party’s moral defeat.

Mr. Rama Rao who is the son of TRS Chief K. Chandrashekhara Rao addressed a press conference at Nirmal before proceeding towards Boath mandal head quarters for a meeting of his party workers.

Stalling formation

He accused Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy of hindering the formation of a separate State. The talk of development of the backward region being floated by Congressmen especially the Chief Minister was only a diversionary tactic, he added.

Former MP T. Madhusudan Reddy and others attended the meeting at Boath.
