Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Saturday announced a compensation of Rs 19.64 crore to farmers of Siwani tehsil in Bhiwani district following crop loss due to drought last year. The compensation would be paid at the rate of Rs 2,000 per acre, Mr. Hooda said. A special ‘girdwari’ had been ordered by the State Government to assess crop loss in Siwani last year which declared that 98,200 acres of the same had been damaged by 25 to 50 per cent.
