Just three days back Madkami Kanha, the village head of Peta village under the same police station was dragged out of his house and fired four bullets by the Maoists when he tried to run away. He died on way to hospital.

On April 3 Maoists had murdered Jagabandhu Sunam, a village elder and on March 27 the village head of Malavaram village, Jaga Madhi was killed by them. The Maoists had claimed that all these village heads were police informers.
