17 dancers selected for national festival

BHUBANESWAR: Giving a boost to the pride of the artistes’ community of the state, a contingent of 17 young Odissi dancers, singers and percussionists of Orissa have been selected to participate in the forthcoming 47th annual

"Kal-ke-Kalakar" national festival of Indian classical dance and music in Mumbai next month.

The prestigious event is being hosted by the well-known Sur Singar Samsad of Mumbai. Speaking to "The Hindu" over telephone from Mumbai, festival director Mr.M.K.Patel informed that the 10-day festival for young artistes of the nation would have separate segments for dance and music with five days each.
