Jeweller robbed of 40-lakh gold

KADAPA: Three unidentified persons waylaid S.M. Khadeer, owner of SMR Jewellers, in a bylane on way to his house in Rayachoti town on Friday night and relieved him of a bag containing gold jewellery worth Rs. 40 lakh.

Khadeer closed his showroom and was going home on a motorcycle when the culprits aged between 25 and 30 years beat him with sticks, snatched away a bag containing 4kg. of gold ornaments from him and fled, according to Rayachoti Urban Circle Inspector Ramaraju.
