BANGALORE: Having started a special drive from Friday to rein in vehicle drivers using dazzling headlights, the city traffic police have warned motorists not to use bluish dazzling headlights as an extra fitting on their vehicles. On Friday, more than 500 motorists were booked for using dazzling headlights within two hours of the start of the drive, said an official release. Apart from using headlights on high beam, motorists had fitted extra headlights emanating blue light, which was not allowed by the Motor Vehicles Act and Rules, the police said. Besides affecting the vision of other road-users, use of such lights would lead to accidents. The police have also urged motorists, who have been issued FTVR notices for motor vehicle offences to pay the fine at the nearest automation centres. Failure to pay the fine would result in cases being referred to courts, the police said.
