THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The District Congress Committee has urged the State government to send an all- party delegation to New Delhi to meet leaders of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) and Left parties and convince them of the need for a High Court Bench in the capital city. The DCC leadership, which met here on Saturday, said an all-party delegation was needed to impress upon national leaders the popular support for the long-standing demand. The meeting also stressed the need to mobilise all the MPs from Kerala to meet the President, the Prime Minister, the Union Law Minister and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and seek their support to get the demand approved. It expressed concern over the failure to settle the agitation for a High Court Bench. DCC leaders observed that the establishment of a High Court Bench was imperative in view of the convenience and time saved by government officials and the general public in the State capital and neighbouring districts. It called on the State government to complete all the formalities and prepare the infrastructure for the bench. DCC president V.S. Sivakumar presided over the meeting.
