Thiruvananthapuram: As part of the National Technology Day celebrations in the city, Hindustan Latex Limited, Rajiv Gandhi Centre For Biotechnology and Terumo Penpol are planning to organise competitions on science presentations and science quiz here on may 9. The student presentations will be on innovative application of science and technology to improve the overall quality of life. The topic will cover improvement of the environment, sustainable use of resources, affordable health care for the masses and mechanisation of mundane jobs. Each team will be allotted 25-30 minutes (depending on the number of teams registering). Student participants are expected to give a brief presentation on one sub-theme. There will be two streams – one for students from class 8 to class 10 and the other for 11/12th class students. A quiz is also planned for high school and higher secondary students. Dr. C.R.
