Badal reviews development projects worth Rs.105 crore

Officials asked to ensure timely implementation works in the holy city

Chief Minister orders fresh survey for provision of potable drinking water facility in town


Anandpur Sahib: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Sunday asked the Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. to coordinate with the senior officers of the different departments of the State Government to ensure timely implementation of development projects to be initiated in and around the holy city of Sri Anandpur Sahib as a part of commemoration of Tercentenary celebration of Guruta Gaddi Divas of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.

Presiding over a high-level meeting of the officers of the State and the district administration, Mr. Badal said that the concerted efforts of the SAD-BJP combine Government had resulted in securing a grant of Rs.105.13 crore for the overall development of Sri Anandpur Sahib.

He announced to setup a committee comprising local MLA Sant Baba Ajit Singh, consultant for the development works Lt. General (Retd.) B.S. Dhaliwal, President Local Municipal Committee Ram Singh and Deputy Commissioner Roop Nagar B. Purushartha for the implementation of these projects.

Mr. Badal asked the Chief Engineer, Water Supply and Sanitation, Arvinder Singh to conduct a fresh survey for the provision of potable drinking water facility in the town within a fortnight.

The Chief Engineer assured Mr. Badal that the entire programme for water supply including in the left out areas at a cost of Rs.5.81 crore would be implemented with in next six months.

Likewise sewerage and sanitation programme would also be implemented at a cost of Rs.9.68 crore. — PTI
