Drowned

ALAPPUZHA: In a tragic incident, a two-year-old boy, Sachin, drowned in the Pamba river near Mannar here on Sunday afternoon. According to police, Sachin was playing near the Mannar boat jetty near his relatives’ home, when he accidentally fell into the water at around 12.30 p.m.. Though locals rescued him and rushed him to a hospital at Parumala, he was declared brought dead. Sachin was the son of Shujan and Safeena of Tharayil Pallathu house, Fathimapuram, Changanassery. Shujan is working in Qatar. Sachin had come to visit his relatives at Mannar three days ago along with his mother and brother, Farooque, a class one student. — Staff Reporter
