Thiruvananthapuram: Governor R.L. Bhatia, Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan, Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president Ramesh Chennithala are among the prominent leaders who have greeted Malayalis on the occasion of Vishu. In separate statements here, the Governor wished all Keralites peace and prosperity, while the Chief Minister said Vishu festival was part of the agricultural traditions of the State and was a season of hope for a better farm produce. Mr. Achuthanandan urged the people to stand united to tackle price rise. The festival season would, he hoped, help in generating an affinity for agriculture as a vocation, he said. — Special Correspondent
