Plea for insurance cover

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Fireworks Licencees and Employees’ Association State executive has demanded that the State government amend the public liability insurance Act to provide insurance cover to those working in the explosives industries sector. Association president Naushad Kaippady and general secretary Puliyoor G. Prakash said in a statement here on Sunday that the employees should be provided insurance cover that the employer had. The government should take steps to amend the Act and also increase the assistance to Rs. 1 lakh, they said. — Special Correspondent
